As Cherokee County Safety Town returns to Bascomb Elementary School, prepare for an exciting and instructive summer! For autumn kindergarteners in Cherokee County, Safe Kids Cherokee County and Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services present a fun-filled week of learning and discovery.
Safety Town will run from 9 a.m. to noon June 10-14 and 17-21. On April 1, families may register their children for both sessions of this excellent activity.
Safety Town teaches young learners about pedestrian, fire, stranger, and other safety themes via interactive activities. Each day, students will learn from respected partners including the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Cherokee Sheriff’s Office, Cherokee County Marshal’s Office, and Cherokee County School Police.
The fun continues! Campers will make crafts, play games, and learn from classes. Safety village’s little village lets children practice road safety regulations in a supervised setting.
Teens may earn community service hours by becoming Safety Town counselors. Motivated teens may register to volunteer for this meaningful initiative on April 1.
Safety Town registration and questions may be found at www.safekidscherokeecounty.org. Please contact Lisa Grisham at [email protected] or 678-493-4343 with any inquiries.
At the Cherokee County Recreation and Parks Summer Camp Series, Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services will teach safety to older youngsters. Visit www.playcherokee.org to register for camps.
