A shocking incident occurred at a Cobb County laundromat where a 40-year-old man snatched a gold chain from a 4-year-old girl’s neck. The brazen theft has left the local community outraged and authorities on high alert as they seek to apprehend the suspect.
The incident took place on Wednesday afternoon at the Clean & Bright Laundromat on Austell Road in Marietta. According to witnesses, the laundromat was bustling with customers when the suspect approached the young girl, who was there with her mother. Without warning, the man grabbed the gold chain from around the child’s neck and fled the scene.
The girl’s mother, who was momentarily distracted by loading laundry into a machine, was horrified to find her daughter in tears and the necklace gone. Several patrons attempted to chase the thief but were unable to catch him. The incident was promptly reported to the Cobb County Police Department.
Police have released a description of the suspect, who is believed to be a man in his 40s, of medium build, wearing a gray hoodie and jeans at the time of the theft. Surveillance cameras in the laundromat captured the incident, and authorities are analyzing the footage to gather more details.

The stolen gold chain holds significant sentimental value for the family, making the theft even more painful. Community members have expressed their shock and anger, emphasizing the need for vigilance and safety in public spaces.
