Cartersville Police Officers worked with Georgia Bureau of Investigation Agents to make major headway in the investigation of a gunshot that happened on April 23, 2024. In connection to the incident, which happened close to Lee Street in Cartersville, Ronald Michelle Osburn and MaKayla Ann Tanner were arrested.
About 9:48 p.m. on Tuesday, April 23, Cartersville Police Officers responded to reports of gunfire near Lee and Walker Streets. Officers arrived to find expended shell casings from several guns, but no one had gunshot wounds. But it turned out later that a gunshot victim had arrived at Piedmont Cartersville Medical Center via private vehicle, proving that the incident had really happened on Lee Street.
Osburn and Tanner were named as persons involved in the shooting event after protracted investigation. Tanner is accused of hindering the capture or punishment of a criminal, while Osburn is accused of aggravated assault with a firearm. Currently incarcerated at Bartow County Jail, both are awaiting a bond hearing.
