Georgian Man Who had Vanished from Silver Spring was Discovered Safe

Andrew Mostyn, a 23-year-old man from Georgia who was reported missing from Silver Spring, has been located intact and in good health, according to Montgomery County Police. Mostyn, according to sources cited by WUSA9 on Sunday afternoon, was discovered in Pennsylvania on the same day.

Mostyn vanished while visiting his ailing grandmother in Silver Spring, Maryland, over the Easter weekend. Mostyn reportedly departed his grandmother’s residence on Saturday, March 30, while operating a white Ford pickup vehicle bearing Georgia license plates, as reported by his family. His intention was to partake in an Easter Sunday celebration with his grandmother subsequent to his visit to the National Mall.

However, Mostyn was last seen on March 30 at approximately 5:00 p.m., and his family became concerned when he did not return. Joy Dameron, Mostyn’s mother, disclosed to WUSA9 that her son had been using Snapchat to communicate from the National Mall at that time.

Mostyn failed to attend the Easter service, contrary to his grandmother and cousins’ expectations, and his canine companion, Koda, remained at home. The same evening, family members received cryptic messages from Mostyn’s mobile phone, which increased their concern for his whereabouts.

The peculiar nature of the texts, as described by Dameron, suggests that Mostyn had already vanished by the time they were transmitted. Uncertain are the circumstances surrounding Mostyn’s disappearance and the manner in which he arrived in Pennsylvania.
