Powder Springs was shaken by tragedy on Wednesday night as a 19-year-old man lost his life in a fatal shooting incident, according to authorities.
Police were alerted to the distressing scene in the Lost Lakes neighborhood around 7:30 p.m., where they discovered Fabrice Robelin, 19, suffering from gunshot wounds to his head and neck. Despite efforts to save him, Robelin was pronounced dead at the scene, leaving a community in mourning.
Coinciding with the discovery of Robelin’s body, a 911 call reported a man seeking refuge in a nearby house, claiming responsibility for the shooting. Coledye Warnock, 18, was swiftly apprehended by authorities and identified as the primary suspect in Robelin’s untimely demise.
Initial investigations suggest that an altercation precipitated the tragic event, culminating in Warnock allegedly firing the fatal shots at Robelin. In light of these findings, Warnock faces a slew of charges including involuntary manslaughter, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, among others. He is currently held in custody without bond, as indicated by jail records.
