A tragic single-vehicle crash in Alpharetta on Tuesday night claimed the lives of three 18-year-olds and left others injured. The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed that Anvi Sharma, Aryan Joshi, and Sriya Avasarala succumbed to their injuries. Anvi Sharma was pronounced dead on Wednesday, adding to the devastation.
Aryan Joshi was a senior at Alpharetta High School. In response, the school’s principal sent a heartfelt letter to parents, students, and staff, offering resources to help the community cope with the grief. Sriya Avasarala and Anvi Sharma had just completed their freshman year at the University of Georgia. The university expressed its condolences, mourning the loss and offering support to the grieving families and friends.
The fatal accident occurred on Westside Parkway between Hembree Road and Maxwell Road, leading to the closure of both northbound and southbound lanes for several hours as the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety conducted their investigation. Authorities disclosed that the vehicle had five occupants, and the conditions of the other injured passengers remain unknown.
According to the Alpharetta Police, the vehicle lost control, veered off the road into a tree line, and flipped upside down. Preliminary findings suggest that speed may have played a role in the accident.
