North Avondale Hit by Second Shooting in 12 Hours: This Incident is Fatal

CINCINNATI –

An 18-year-old is dead after a shooting in North Avondale – the second one in 12 hours on the same block.

It was reported just after 7:30 a.m. Friday on Reading Road and Burton Avenue.

Officers were called to the area for a report of a disorderly person and found a man on the ground with a gunshot wound to his stomach, said Cincinnati Police Sgt. Steven Hoerst.

Police identified the man as Ahsan Simmons.

As of now, police have not said anything about a suspect.

This is the second shooting in the 3700 block of Reading Road within 12 hours late Thursday and early Friday, police confirm.

Police found a man in his 30s shot in the chest about 7:40 p.m. Thursday.

He was transported to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

Officers detained a possible suspect and his vehicle, according to a statement from a police spokesman.
