The “elder abuse and $1 million theft” lawsuit involving Priscilla Presley has just taken an odd turn.
According to Knewz.com, the widow of the King of Rock and Roll has addressed startling rumors that she has an unnamed grandchild who is in Florida at the moment.
Presley is presently battling Brigitte Kruse, a memorabilia auctioneer, who claims the celebrity has cut her out of her life despite providing financial support.
Presley’s close friends had previously worried about her mental health and thought she was an unintentional victim of elder financial abuse.
Presley, who is worth $50 million, said in a lawsuit that Kruse and her business associates enticed and seduced her before stealing $1 million from her.
Kruse was accused in the civil complaint of being a “con artist and pathological liar” who “fraudulently induced” Elvis’ widow into signing contracts that granted Kruse and her assistants 80% of her earnings.
In retaliation, Kruse filed a motion seeking permission to modify her own case, claiming she was expelled entirely after assisting Presley in boosting her finances with multiple new ventures.
In response, Presley said she had no connection to Florida and therefore not be held accountable there. In order to prove that she does have a tie, Kruse filed a new complaint, this time claiming that Presley and her late megastar husband had an unnamed grandson who is currently residing in the Sunshine state.
Judge John E. Jordan gave Presley a deadline to address the allegation, and he has already done so.
“It is simply irrelevant whether Presley has relatives who live or own homes in Florida or whether Presley made a couple of personal visits to Florida,” she said in response to the motion to dismiss that Presley filed on Tuesday.
The 79-year-old however criticized Kruse in her motion, claiming that: “Brigitte Kruse and her co-conspirator, Kevin Fialko unduly influenced, cajoled, and defrauded Presley – who has been a California resident for decades – into making Kruse a trusted advisor, trustee, and attorney-in-fact, and purportedly giving Kruse and Fialko a majority and controlling interest in the rights to use Presley’s name, image, and likeness (in perpetuity).”
The complaint continued: “Kruse and Fialko absconded with hundreds of thousands of dollars, and then preemptively sued Presley in Florida when they knew the gig was up.”
Kruse has not yet addressed the fresh accusations leveled against her.
Presley is no stranger to the legal system; after the death of her only daughter, Lisa Marie, she found herself fighting for the late star’s $35 million legacy with her granddaughter, Riley Keough.
According to reports, Keough agreed to give her well-known grandmother a $1 million lump sum payment as part of their settlement.
Keough, 35, committed to protecting and investing the funds “in a manner consistent with the needs of the beneficiaries, and not influenced by the desire of a Trustee” as part of the agreement. Keough currently manages her late mother’s estate and the sub-trusts for her twin sisters, Harper and Finley Lockwood, who are 14 years old.
