In Marietta, the annual ceremony at Marietta National Cemetery will commence at 10 AM. The event will feature a parade of veterans, scouts, and a military band, followed by speeches from local dignitaries and veterans. A wreath-laying ceremony and the playing of “Taps” will provide poignant moments of reflection.
Over in Roswell, the 25th annual Memorial Day commemoration will take place at Roswell City Hall. The ceremony will start at 11 AM and include a color guard presentation, patriotic music, and a moment of silence to honor the fallen. Local students will also participate, reading poems and letters dedicated to those who served.
In downtown Atlanta, a special ceremony will be held at the Georgia State Capitol. Beginning at noon, this event will feature a keynote address from a prominent military figure, along with a 21-gun salute and a flyover by vintage aircraft.
