Incoming FBI Director Kash Patel Targeted in Alleged ‘Iranian’ Cyberattack

The FBI has reported that Kash Patel, President-elect Donald Trump’s nominee for Director, was the victim of an alleged Iranian cyberattack.

According to information obtained by Knewz.com, the outspoken “Deep State” conspiracy theorist is the most recent Trump supporter to be singled out by foreign hackers.

On November 30, President-elect Trump declared Patel’s nomination, saying:

“Kash has dedicated his professional life to exposing wrongdoing, upholding justice, and safeguarding the American people. He is an exceptional lawyer, investigator, and America First warrior. This FBI will eradicate the migratory criminal gangs, curb the awful pandemic of drug and people trafficking across the border, and put an end to America’s escalating crime epidemic.”

“At least some of Patel’s communications” were reportedly accessible to the hackers during the purported “Iranian” cyberattack.

Additionally, it has been stated that earlier in 2024, Iran stole information from the Trump presidential campaign and sold it to people working on Joe Biden’s reelection campaign.

In a statement, Trump transition spokesperson Alex Pfeiffer noted Patel’s role in the first Trump administration’s anti-Iranian posture, which may have contributed to the country’s recent cyberattack against the incoming FBI chief.

“Kash Patel was a key part of the first Trump administration s efforts against the terrorist Iranian regime and will implement President Trump s policies to protect America from adversaries as the FBI Director,” according to reports.

The cyberattack on Patel occurred about a month after the FBI notified Todd Blanche, Trump’s deputy attorney general nominee, that Chinese hackers had tapped his telephone, making him the second Trump lawyer to be the victim of international cyberattacks.

Lindsey Halligan, Trump’s lawyer, was the target of another Iranian hacking attempt in August 2024.

Additionally, Roger Stone, a longstanding Trump supporter, had his email account compromised by Iranian hackers, who attempted to use it to access a senior Trump campaign official’s email account.

Trump’s choice for the FBI Chief post has reportedly drawn criticism, similar to several of his Cabinet choices. According to reports, it may be challenging for the Senate to ratify Patel’s appointment.

First and foremost, the nomination of the MAGA loyalist depends on the resignation or dismissal of current FBI Chief Christopher Wray, who was appointed in 2017 during the first term of the Trump administration and is currently three years short of his 10-year term.

According to sources, the U.S. Senate is unsure about Patel, even though Wray now enjoys the esteem of some members of Congress.

Current FBI Director Wray is a very excellent man, according to South Dakota Republican Senator Mike Rounds, who also stated that he has no issues with the way [Wray] is currently performing his duties.

Regarding Patel’s nomination, however, Rounds stated that although he granted presidents the “benefit of the doubt,” senators have a constitutional duty to follow the process.

It’s important to remember that the well-known Trump supporter and outspoken conspiracy theorist has frequently described the FBI as the backbone of the corrupt ruling elite or the deep state.

Patel promised in a prior interview to permanently close the Bureau’s headquarters in Washington, D.C., and reopen the structure as a deep state museum.

As the next FBI Director, Patel promised during his recent interview on Steve Bannon’s War Room that he would join Trump-appointed patriots in a “all-out effort” to arrest and imprison members of the government and media, according to sources.
