These days, Dolly Parton works more than nine to five.
According to Knewz.com, pals of the country music classic, who turns 79 on January 19, are worried about her “won’t stop” work ethic and claim they “can’t remember” the last time she had a break before her busy 2025 schedule.

Those closest to the singing legend, however, are allegedly concerned that if Parton continues with her busy schedule, she may soon be at risk of “burnout.”
A source claimed: “People can’t remember the last time she took avacation, and the feeling is she needs to give herself a break.”
According to the source, Parton’s friends worry that she is overburdened and that she ought to spend more time at home with her reclusive husband, Carl Dean.
Parton previously stated on Entertainment Tonight that she would “definitely pull way back” if her 82-year-old hubby “were in illhealth or needed her.”
Until then, though, Parton’s work ethic doesn’t appear to be slowing down.
“She can’t quit performing and feels she owes it to her fans,” the person continued.
Parton runs a huge economic empire that includes the Dollywood theme park and the Dollywood HeartSong Lodge & Resort in addition to her music career.
She also works as a TV producer and oversees several product lines, including Doggy Parton pet accessories.
In addition to all of that, she is committed to creating a Broadway musical on her life in 2026. In addition to creating the song’s lyrics and melody, Parton is also in charge of casting and is presently looking for an unidentified actress to play her.
According to the insider, “Dolly is always on the phone and attending meetings.
“She’s got Dollywood to run and all her other business ventures, from her publishing company to fragrance line – and she’s still thinking up new endeavours that take a lot of her time and energy.”
They continued: “The fear is if Dolly doesn’t slow down and start to delegate more responsibilities she’ll burn out and no-one wants that.”
On the other hand, Parton has stated that she does not see herself as a ticking time bomb, telling The Guardian last month that she has no intention of retiring.
The vocalist exclaimed, “Oh, my Lord, I can’t retire.”
“I’m not one to sit around doing nothing,” she remarked in a different radio interview. One day, I wish to pass out on stage in the middle of a song. I hope it’s one I wrote.
However, Parton recently stated that she likes to do “simple things” with her husband in their Nashville, Tennessee, home when she isn’t working.
She clarified: “I truly have a basic life and don’t go out much. Although I appear to be a party animal, when I’m not working, I’m really a homebody who enjoys spending time at home. I enjoy cooking, reading, and doing piddly, feminine things around the house.
“My spouse and I have always had a good time together. I enjoy doing things with him; we have a little RV and enjoy traveling, particularly in Tennessee, where we enjoy taking day or weekend excursions. In it, we have traveled across the nation.
Dean, a retired businessman who loves to be out of the spotlight, is very different from Parton, who married him in 1966.
“He’s never liked going out to dinner and all that stuff,” the hitmaker acknowledged. Additionally, it felt natural to me to keep my life private, even if I enjoy going out to a great dinner with friends and having a good time.”
