Creekview High School Student Shines in National Business Skills Contest

The Cherokee County School District proudly announced that Olivia Canada, a senior at Creekview High School, has secured victory in a statewide business skills contest and is poised to compete on a national stage. Canada’s remarkable achievement comes after she clinched first place in the job interview contest at the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) state leadership conference held in Atlanta. Her stellar performance has earned her a spot in the upcoming national FBLA competition slated for Orlando this summer.

This isn’t Canada’s first taste of success in the realm of competitive business skills. She previously clinched a state championship in a job interview skills contest at the DECA student marketing, management, and entrepreneurship association’s state conference, subsequently advancing to the international competition. Over the past four years, Canada has consistently demonstrated her prowess, securing second place as well as top three, four, and five honors at statewide FBLA and DECA competitions.

Under the guidance of her teacher, Ashley Jones, Canada has flourished as a four-year student in the Career Pathway: Marketing and Management program. Her dedication and talent have earned her acceptance into Covenant College, where she plans to pursue a degree in business with a concentration in marketing.

Canada’s involvement extends beyond academic excellence. She plays an active role in Creekview High School’s FBLA chapter, currently serving as president, and DECA chapter, where she holds the position of vice president of social media and club relations.

Additionally, she is a member of prestigious organizations such as the National Honor Society, Science National Honor Society, Key Club, and Beta Club. Canada’s commitment to excellence transcends academics; she has also excelled in extracurricular activities, lettering in both marching band and serving as the basketball team manager. Her impressive list of accolades includes an academic letter, Georgia Certificate of Merit, and Lamp of Knowledge.
