Townelaker– The Atlanta Braves displayed their offensive prowess with a dominant 12-4 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies, fueled by a 19-hit onslaught on Saturday. This impressive win marked the Braves’ second consecutive victory over the Phillies, following their season-opening 9-3 triumph.
Atlanta wasted no time asserting their dominance, scoring seven runs in the first three innings. Despite Philadelphia’s attempt to respond in the bottom of the first inning, capitalizing on three walks by Atlanta’s starting pitcher Max Fried to score three runs, the Braves quickly regained control.
In the top of the second inning, Travis d’Arnaud’s double drove in two runs, followed by Kelenic’s RBI single, extending Atlanta’s lead to 5-3. Jesse Chavez, who replaced Fried, delivered a solid performance, pitching a scoreless second inning.
