Billionaire Jeff Bezos Selling His Private Jet

Having his private jet by his side is no longer necessary, according to Jeff Bezos.

The Amazon billionaire is selling his “old” private plane, a Gulfstream G650ER, according to Knewz.com. He has been under fire for his jets’ excessive carbon emissions.

The 60-year-old reportedly offered his 2015 private plane on the Aviation Marketplace Controller for about $40 million. A brand-new G650ER, by contrast, costs $65 million.

The Federal Aviation Administration reports that the private plane is registered to Poplar Glen LLC, a holding corporation.Bezos, who has a net worth of $217 billion, is the company’s owner, according to Washington state documents from 2004, the year the company was founded.

There will be lots of lavishamenities for anyone can afford to buy the businessman’s old jet. The listing’s photos display the jet’s inside, which is beige and brown and has multiple living spaces.

The description claims that Bezos’ jet contains couches, restrooms, and meeting spaces. There is space for 14 passengers as well.

According to JetSpy statistics, the former CEO of Amazon made sure to make the most of his plane, accruing 224 hours on 73 flights this year alone. Approximately $677,000 was spent on fuel and nearly 1,100 tons of carbon were released during all that flying.

Bezos, who bought the $80 million jet in August, will also not be missing it because he already has three other jets, including a Gulfstream G700.

Bezos may be considering diverting his attention on his private jet in the meanwhile, as his company, the Washington Post, has been inundated with criticism from irate readers.

According to a report, Bezos prevented its editorial board from releasing an endorsement of Kamala Harris in October, which caused over 250,000 readers to abandon their subscriptions. Donald Trump ultimately defeated the incumbent vice president in her bid to become the nation’s next president.

Bezos justified his action at the time, stating that it was an ethical choice since political endorsements convey the impression that a company is biased.

“In a moment further from the election and the emotions surrounding it,” he continued, adding that he wishes the decision to stop presidential endorsements had been made sooner. That wasn’t some deliberate tactic; it was a lack of preparation.

Bezos is concentrating on the good things in his life, such as getting married to Lauren Sanchez in what is expected to be a “extravagant” ceremony in Aspen, despite the commotion.

“They’re preparing for a winter wonderland wedding in Aspen this Christmas,” an insider revealed. They are making every effort to create a white Christmas occasion and are organizing a lavish ceremony.”

The impending wedding is anticipated to be a star-studded affair, with prominent figures from the business and film industries among the guests.

In 2019, Bezos fell in love with Sanchez, a media personality, news anchor, and entertainment reporter, following his well-publicized divorce from Mackenzie Scott.

In 2023, Bezos proposed to Sanchez with a $2.5 million pink diamond ring.
