Townelaker– Victor Scott II, a former standout athlete from McEachern High School in Powder Springs, Georgia, achieved a significant milestone in his baseball career. The 23-year-old made his Major League Baseball debut with the St. Louis Cardinals and made an impact by recording his first stolen base in their season opener against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Growing up in Powder Springs, Victor Scott II was the son of Victor Scott, a former Atlanta police detective, and Mary Scott, a Kroger manager. Both of his parents were track athletes at Morris Brown College in Atlanta. Victor Scott II excelled in both baseball and basketball during his time at McEachern High School before committing to play baseball at West Virginia University. He was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals during the fifth round of the 2022 MLB Draft.
To commemorate his debut, Scott shared his gratitude on social media, thanking everyone who supported him throughout his journey. His parents were able to attend his debut in Los Angeles, where the Cardinals cleared a spot for him on their Opening Day roster. Back in Powder Springs, family and friends gathered at Taco Mac in Hiram to watch Scott’s debut.

While the Cardinals lost the game 7-1, Victor Scott II’s debut marked the beginning of what promises to be a successful career in Major League Baseball, with many more games and achievements ahead.
