The federal government is undergoing a major transformation under the Donald Trump administration, with a focus on federal diversity, equity, and inclusion employees and affirmative action recruits.
According to Knewz.com, the adjustments were made in response to an executive order passed by the newly elected President that dismantled the federal government’s diversity and inclusion initiatives.
Trump has reportedly referred to the programs as “discrimination” and promised to reinstate a recruiting procedure that is solely based on qualifications.
According to the Trump administration’s recent instruction, federal agencies must create a list of federal diversity, equity, and inclusion offices and employees against whom they must create a plan to implement a reduction-in-force action.
Additionally, a memo released by the Office of Personnel Management on January 21 directed federal agencies to put diversity, equity, and inclusion employees on paid leave by January 22 at 5 p.m.
The agencies were requested to remove websites that focused on the same topic by the same date.
“Agencies must also cancel any DEI-related training and end any related contracts, and federal workers are being asked to report to Trump s Office of Personnel Management if they suspect any DEI-related program has been renamed to obfuscate its purpose within 10 days or face ‘adverse consequences,'” according to reports.
It’s important to remember that Trump had stated during his campaign that he opposed federal initiatives that support inclusion and equity; his Secretary of Defense nominee, Peter Hegseth, also held this opinion.
At a June rally in Las Vegas, Trump declared that “the woke stuff will be gone within a period of 24 hours” if he were elected president in 2024. I am able to tell you.
In addition to calling for the pardon of military soldiers accused and prosecuted with war crimes, Hegseth has reportedly questioned the appointment of women in active military combat.
During an episode of The Shawn Ryan Show podcast, Hegseth essentially referred to the military’s use of women in battle as a handicap and said that it reduces the effectiveness of the armed services.
“Everything about men and women serving together makes the situation more complicated, and complication in combat, that means casualties are worse,” the nominee for Defense Secretary stated in a podcast interview.
He went on to say that “diversity in the military is a strength” since women cannot perform at the same level as males of different ethnicities and communities.
During the podcast, he stated that by allowing women to serve in combat slots, we have altered the criteria for their placement, so altering the unit’s capabilities.
The Trump administration has implemented a large series of executive orders, many of which are aimed at limiting immigration while increasing military presence at the border. One of these measures is the revision of federal diversity, equity, and inclusion programs.
According to sources, Trump’s executive orders have significantly reduced the number of routes to the United States, including the refugee program for people escaping persecution and danger.
In his inaugural address, Trump restated his immigration policies, saying:
“As commander in chief, I have no higher responsibility than to defend our country from threats and invasions, and that is exactly what I am going to do.”
