Cherokee County School District is closed for Winter Break the week of Feb. 15. Many families take advantage of the break and skip out of town for a vacation. However, if you choose to stay close to home for a staycation or because of a conflict with work schedules, we wanted to share a few opportunities for you and your children to take advantage of.
Winter Break in Woodstock
Details and information regarding the YMCA, CRPA, and the Elm Street Cultural Arts Center Camps can be found on page 69 of the TowneLaker Magazine. While daycamps work for some, we realize that there are parents that will have those kiddos home with them for the week. We thought it would be fun to comb through Pinterest and get inspired for fun local activities and ideas! We found the weekly summer schedule from Pinner Justagirlabby. Even though it was originally a summer schedule, we thought it would be fun to modify it for winter break in Cherokee County! Here are our ideas below:
Make It Monday
This is a fun day to pick one of the projects that you and the kiddos have been looking at and give it a try! It does not matter what the project is, where you found it, or how you go about getting it done. What matters is that you are spending time together and being creative. Share your Make It Monday pictures with us on our Facebook page if you choose!
Take a Trip Tuesday
Living in the metro Atlanta area means there are always fun trips to take. Local trips are easily taken to the county parks or on the Woodstock Trails. You could even take advantage of the zoo passes available from the library. Whatever you choose to do, we know you and your little ones will have a blast.
Water Wednesday
This is a great day to add a little water in the mix. This might mean taking a trip to go swimming, playing with water and soap bubbles in the kitchen sink, or taking a spin on the frozen ice at a local ice skating rink. Do you have other creative ideas for your Water Wednesday? We want to hear from you!
Thinking Thursday
Thursday seems like a good idea to get those kids thinking. What problems can you have them solve and what topic can you have them learn about? Perhaps a trip to the Sequoyah Regional Library System will help with cultivating the thoughts of your young ones.
Fun Friday
What are your favorite fun activities to do when you have a day to spend together? Whether reading, watching a movie, going out to dinner, or playing board games, we want to hear from you! What are your ideas for a fun Friday over winter break?
Make sure you share your ideas with us and your photos of all of the fun that you and your families have in Cherokee County over the Winter Break!
