Was Trump Right After All? Ohio Woman Pleads Guilty to Killing, Eating Cat

An Ohio woman has been charged with killing and consuming a cat, following months of Donald Trump’s presidential campaign allegations that Haitian immigrants were murdering and consuming people’s pets in Springfield.

However, Knewz.com has established that the woman who entered a guilty plea to animal cruelty is neither an immigrant nor of Haitian heritage.

In late August of 2024, Allexis Ferrell, then 27 years old, was jailed in the Ohio city of Canton for reportedly stomping on the animal’s corpse and then eating it.

Ferrell was squatting next to the dead cat on the property of the public housing complex where she resides when the cops arrived on the scene of a 911 call.

When the responding officers arrived, the 27-year-old accused offender reportedly had fur on her lips and blood on her hands and feet.

Ferrell did not respond when one of the officers asked her if she had eaten the deceased cat, according to the police bodycam footage.

The officer inquired, “Did you eat that cat?” before asking, “Why d you kill it?”

“Will you call the Humane Society to see if they’ll come pick this cat up?” the officer asked dispatch after she failed to respond. It’s dead.

The 27-year-old has been held in the county jail on a $100,000 bond since his arrest.

During a hearing in Stark County’s Court of Common Pleas on December 2, she agreed to the felony animal cruelty charge and was given a one-year jail sentence.

On the same day, a competency hearing was planned to assess Ferrell’s mental capacity to stand trial, but reportedly never happened.

But in October, a judge issued an order revealing her medical information.

Ferrell was reportedly on probation at the time of her arrest for a felony child endangerment offense for which she was found guilty in 2023, according to court documents.

According to court records, she had also previously been found guilty on many theft-related charges.

Canton, 175 miles from Springfield, Ohio, the epicenter of the conspiracy theories and rumors that claimed Haitian immigrants had been kidnapping and consuming people’s pets, is where the cat-eating incident took place.

With many people questioning if the assertions made by President-elect Trump and incoming Vice President J.D. Vance were accurate, the Ferrell incident has become the talk of the town.

It has also been noted, though, that Ferrell was born in the United States and is not Haitian, as reported, in contrast to the allegations propagated by the Trump campaign.

Vice President-elect Vance started the rumors about Haitian immigrants in Springfield, Ohio, eating pets. The Facebook post on a local group in Springfield claimed that Haitian immigrants were “carving up” and eating people’s pets, such as dogs and cats.

Throughout his campaign, the president-elect himself frequently brought up these now-disproved statements, for which he frequently received criticism and mockery.

Notably, Vance later acknowledged in a 16-minute interview with CNN that he made up the story of Springfield residents’ dogs being eaten by Haitian immigrants.

“If I have to create stories so that the American media actually pays attention to the suffering of the American people, then that s what I m going to do, Dana [Bash, CNN anchor], because you guys are completely letting Kamala Harris coast,” he stated in the interview.

Bash asked, “You just said this is a story that you created,” to ensure she had heard the then-Republican vice president accurately. Vance responded, “Yes.”
