The Cherokee County Volunteer Aging Council (VAC) is teaming up with the Cherokee Recreation & Parks Agency for their annual Adopt-A-Senior Program for this upcoming holiday season. Cherokee County citizens are asked to adopt a senior who is currently receiving services through the Meals-On-Wheels, Congregate Meal or Homemaker Programs.
If you are interested in adopting a senior please contact CPRA Recreation Coordinator Frankie Sanders by phone at 770-924-7768 or email at fsanders@cherokeega.com. One registered, volunteers will be asked to put together a gift bag including a terrycloth towel set, lotion, stationery and envelopes, a 20-count book of stamps and a special note or card to the senior. Note: Please assemble all packages in a holiday-themed gift bag before delivery.
Volunteers can drop off gift bags beginning Wednesday, November 15th at Cherokee Recreation and Parks Agency’s Recreation Center, located at:

Business Hours are Monday-Thursday 9:00am-8:00pm, Fridays 9:00am-5:00pm, and Saturday 9:00am-2:00pm. Please remember to leave your name when dropping off a gift item. The deadline for dropping off packages is Friday, December 7th, 2012.
