This Saturday, August 18th, the Blue Iron Motorcycle Club will be raising money and awareness to help a local boy and his family. Jordan Strong is a 5-year-old boy with Ulrich’s Muscular Dystrophy, and his father is a Deputy with the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office. His family is hoping to raise money for a van with a lift to make transportation easier.
Despite being able to develop a great deal more than the doctors ever thought possible through weekly physical therapy sessions, Jordan has reached the plateau of his dependent mobile movement, putting him at risk for losing his ability to walk altogether. Unfortunately, Jordan’s wheelchair sits at his physical therapist’s office since they are unable to transport it.
Registration for the event will begin at 9:30am and kickstands will go up at 11:00am. The starting point will be Kotic Kustoms on Bells Ferry Road (address is 6406 Bells Ferry Road), and the registration fee is $25 per bike and $10 per passenger. There will be food and music at the end of the ride.
