Can you make $2 provide 3 meals? Most people probably can not manage that feat. However, at Papa’s Pantry, this is something that is done everyday with the generous help of donations. That is why donations are so important when it comes to filling their shelves and more importantly the cupboards of local families in need.
Papa’s Pantry serves as more than just a food pantry. They recognize that while people may struggle financially, there are larger solutions available other than just supplying food. As a result, The Master’s Training Center was developed as the training branch of Papa’s Pantry in an effort to offer support beyond food.
The center provides training on a variety of topics and life skills. Members of the community are invited to join training sessions, which are open to the public. Topics include couponing, budgeting, financial planning, nutrition, interview help, and finding employment. Information and a schedule for these courses can be found on the calendars at Papa’s Pantry and The Master’s Training Center.
It would be near impossible to get a complete look at and understanding of what Papa’s Pantry and The Master’s Training Center do within the communities of Woodstock and Canton without a first-hand experience. To get a glimpse, save the date of Saturday, Nov. 22 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., when Papa’s Pantry will be hosting a Thanksgiving Open House. Cider, appetizers, holiday desserts, and a tour will be offered for visitors to get a full picture of what goes on at Papa’s Pantry.
