Summer Reading Club

May 22, 2015

The Sequoyah Regional Library is running the Every Hero Has a Story summer reading program from May 22-August 7. Children may collect their Summer Reading Logs at any branch. As students log their reading, they qualify for rewards, books, and prizes. Free programs are offered at the library locations this summer with fun and exciting activities centered around the Every Hero Has a Story theme.

Summer Reading Club Kick-Off

The official kick-off party for the Summer Reading Program features special guest BB Fuzz. Jeff Johnson will be joining BB Fuzz in motivating all children (and children at heart) to laugh, sing, dance and read in this summer kick-off appearance. Other June events include superhero themed activities such as a Superhero Academy Magic Show (June 26) and Big Hero 6 (June 23) themed activities. Check out the detailed brochure for June for more information about the month’s activities and locations.

Summer Reading Club Finale

Summer Reading Logs may be submitted until August 7, but the grand finale of the Summer Reading Club will take place in July. Leading up to the Hero Training Academy taking place on July 20, 21, and 23 (depending on which library branch event you attend), children are welcome to join in a variety of superhero-themed activities. In July, children may pick and choose from Villains of the Sky, a program about birds of prey presented by Heather Wilson from Friends of Amicalola Falls State Park, or a meet and greet with local heroes. Check out the July brochure for dates, times and descriptions of July events.
