Santa Helps to Save Pets in Cherokee County

December 2, 2013

Towne Lake Area InfoJoin Santa at the Cherokee County Animal Shelter (CCAS) for a Home 4 the Holidays Sale. The event will take place on Saturday Dec. 7, 2012 from 10am – 4pm at the shelter which is located at 1015 Univeter Rd. in Canton.

This year will be an Open House like never before!  CCAS is going all the way for adoptable pets and hoping each has a home for the holidays. In order to help achieve that goal, for ONE DAY ONLY, CCAS is offering FREE ADOPTIONS!

On this day, any available pet at CCAS will be adoptable for no fee, and even better, all adoptions will still include the regular valuable services –

  • Spaying or neutering
  • Microchipping
  • Initial vaccinations
  • Flea/tick treatment
  • Deworming
  • Heart worm test for adult dogs
  • Leukemia test for adult cats
  • Sample bag of pet food
  • Free office visit at a local participating veterinarian

The Cherokee County Interact Club will also be hosting a Pancake Breakfast with Santa from 8am to 10am that same Saturday morning across the street from the shelter in the Malon D. Mimms Boys & Girls Club Gymnasium. In order to help fill the shelter’s pet food pantry for owned pets in need in our community, breakfast is FREE with a donation of any brand/size DRY dog or cat food, clay (non-clumping) cat litter or monetary donation.

So plan to spend this coming Saturday with Santa and Cherokee County Animal Shelter pets.  Stop in to meet a new member of your family, come by for breakfast with the big guy, or just “like” them on Facebook so you can share this great event with friends.

Photos with Santa can be taken with your own camera or by the shelter photographer for a $5 donation per downloadable digital image.  Please feel free to bring children or pets for a photo with Santa but the shelter asks that pets be kept on a leash or in a secure carrier at all times.

Please visit www.cherokeega-animals.org for more details.
