Enter your homemade salsa recipe in the River Church Farmers Market Salsa Challenge 2013 on Tuesday, June 30th. At the regular weekly Farmers Market at 2335 Sixes Rd. in Canton. Proceeds from the event will benefit the North Georgia Angel House.

You should prepare a one quart container in order to provide enough of your magical recipe for the judging panel, made up of three local community members and the taster’s choice voting which will be made up of attendees of the event. Multiple entries are allowed.

In addition to bragging rights, the winner in each of the two major categories will receive $25 in “Market Bucks, which can be used at the Farmers Market. The people’s choice winner will receive a River Church Farmers Market Produce and Gift Basket. Tasting and judging will begin at 3:00 pm, so entrants should have their salsa at the welcome tent between 2:00 and 2:45. The top 3 winners in each category will move on to the final round to be held at Jasper Farmers Market at a gala celebration between River Church, Waleska and Jasper Farmers Markets.

The community tasting requests a $1 donation with proceeds benefiting North Georgia Angel House.
