Prominent Pastor Tony Evans Steps Down Due to Sin

In a stunning revelation, Dr. Tony Evans, a well-known evangelical pastor in North Texas, has announced his decision to step away from the ministry “due to sin.” Evans, one of the founding pastors of Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship Church in Dallas and a former chaplain for both the Dallas Cowboys and the Mavericks, shared this news in a heartfelt statement to his congregation on June 9.

“It has been my glorious joy and privilege to serve as your senior pastor over these last 48 years,” Evans stated. He praised God for the journey from a small house gathering of ten people to the thriving church community they have today.

Emphasizing the church’s unwavering commitment to the Word of God as the ultimate standard of truth, Evans admitted, “A number of years ago, I fell short of that standard.” He clarified that he has not committed any crimes but acknowledged failing to exercise “righteous judgment” in his actions.
