First started in 2010, Cherokee Recreation & Parks Agency (CRPA) is once again sponsoring Project Valentine. This special event is to provide needed toiletry and sundry items as well as Valentine’s treats for Cherokee County area seniors in order to make the holiday more special.
CRPA has already begun accepting donated items and will continue through Friday, February 7. Requested items include small tubes or bottles of hypoallergenic lotion, tubes of Vaseline, or plain lip balm, Valentine knick-knacks, sugar-free and regular candy and packs of crackers. Once received, these items will be made into goody bags and delivered to the Canton Nursing Center as well as the Brian Center.
Donations may be dropped off at the Recreation Center in Woodstock located at 7545 Main Street, building 200 in Woodstock. Their goal is to deliver 200 bags on Valentine’s Day. Volunteers to help fill the bags are also welcome.
This community outreach program fits in perfectly with the CRPA Mission statement of “Quality People Delivering Quality Services for Your Quality of Life” and demonstrates their commitment to outreach efforts to all parts of the Cherokee County community.
