Poker Tournament! March 5th at Wow Cafe & Wingery

February 25, 2011

Benefiting the Anna Crawford Children’s Center

The Anna Crawford Children’s Center provides a child-friendly facility where children who have disclosed abuse can come for investigation and therapy. The Center facilitates a multi-disciplinary team approach for the investigation and treatment of child abuse  cases.  The approach reduces the trauma to the child and non-offending family members while it enhances the investigation process.  This limits the times a child has to talk about the abuse with members of the multi-disciplinary team members

Children and their non-offending caregivers are provided resources they will need to help them begin the healing process. Therapy is provided for the children and support groups are offered for the non-offending parents and caregivers. Child abuse can be traumatic, but having access to these important services allows for a reduction in the trauma and more rapid healing from that trauma.  From the Anna Crawford Children’s Center Website

What Is The Rotary Club Anyway?

I personally didn’t know much about Rotary International and Rotary Club, so I asked about it. Ivan Garcia, Rotary Club of Towne Lake Public Relations Chair explained:

” Rotary International is a service oriented organization that traces it’s roots back to the early 1900’s with over 1.2 million members worldwide.  Our motto is “service above self.” Here at the local level, the Rotary Club of Towne Lake strives to be an active member in the community in both helping local causes and raising awareness about what we do.  We are  group of local business men and women, as well as interested residents who are looking to make a difference! …”

Sounds like we all need to get out on Saturday, March 5th to have a little fun and play a little poker…and all for a great cause!

You can also RSVP via The Rotary Club of Towne Lake’s Facebook Event Page for The Tournament.
