Kennesaw State University and the Atlanta Braves have announced that the Owls will host a football game at SunTrust Park in 2018.
The Nov. 17, game between Kennesaw State and Jacksonville State University will be the first football game played at the new, 41,000-seat home of the Braves. SunTrust Park’s baseball playing surface will be converted to a football field, with the field running from home plate to left field.

Under head coach Brian Bohannon, Kennesaw State won 14 games during their first two seasons, and was one win shy of a Big South Conference title in 2016. The Jacksonville State Gamecocks, coached by John Grass, posted a 33-6 record over the past three seasons, reaching the FCS Playoffs each year and playing for the national championship in 2015.
Also in 2018, the Owls will open the season at Georgia State, which now plays its home games at Turner Field – the former home of the Braves. Kennesaw State’s other nonconference opponents in 2018 include Samford, Tennessee Tech, Alabama State and Clark-Atlanta. www.ksuowls.com.
