School is back in session, and quite possibly you are noticing an increase in traffic. In an effort to help steer students, and all drivers, in the right direction, Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) is ramping up for the September It Can Wait campaign.
It Can Wait
This campaign does not limit itself to students. The It Can Wait message applies to anyone behind the wheel of a car. With so many distractions in a vehicle, answering texts, emailing, dialing a number, or even using voice activated capabilities only add to the potential dangers. The It Can Wait campaign encourages drivers of all ages to remember that the text, call, email, or other task that they want to complete on their smart phone can wait!
Why Is This Campaign Important?
Research is pointing to the fact that drivers engage in activities beyond texting while driving. With this knowledge, it is important to step beyond the simple message involving avoiding texting and driving.
