Give A Kid A Chance Gears Up for Back-to-School

July 20, 2012

In just a few short weeks, students in Cherokee County will be heading back to school. The organization Give A Kid A Chance is hoping to help ease the burden of back-to-school shopping for some families. This program is designed to help less fortunate children get all the necessary materials they need for the coming school year.

Tomorrow, July 21st, more than 3,000 children from low-income families are expected to show up at First Baptist Church in Canton and Hillside United Methodist Church in Woodstock to receive necessary items like clothing, haircuts, socks and underwear, and backpacks filled with school supplies to get them ready for the coming school year.

How to Help

The organization is looking for volunteers for the event tomorrow, as well as monetary donations and supply donations. To donate or volunteer, please contact the member in charge by locating them here.
