For years Cherokee County felt the decline of the economy. A quick drive through different parts of the county shows infrastructure in place for developments that never fully took off. With the recent upswing in housing and development and building beginning to pick back up, things were starting to look like they were improving. While there are many signs of economic improvements, the Cherokee Office of Economic Development (COED) reports that the economy will most likely feel a boost in another way.

The film industry is loving the fact that so many communities throughout Georgia are Camera Ready Communities. Cherokee County is on the map as a Camera Ready Community and is looking forward to hosting major movie projects.
According to the COED, Cherokee County is ideal for filmmaking. The rolling hills halfway between Atlanta and the mountains offer a unique topography that is not available near Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport. With a combination of urban and rural life, Cherokee County is an outstanding location.
Tom Cruise visited Ball Ground and south Pickens in April, and the news of his visit spread like wildfire. It was one of the most viewed stories on sister publication Sixes Living’s Facebook page when the article from the Pickens County Progress was shared. With big names visiting, and movie production underway, the economy is surely going to continue to trend upward.
All of this leads to an increased possibility of local opportunities for background acting. These Atlanta area casting companies are always willing to take basic information for reference:
