With Donald Trump returning in the White House, Joe Exotic is expecting that his chances of being released from prison early have improved.
According to Knewz.com, the Tiger Kingstar wrote to Pam Bondi, the president-elect’s new attorney general, pleading for forgiveness.
In addition to thanking Bondi, the former TV personality—real name Joseph Allen Maldonado—also expressed his dismay that Republican Congressman Matt Gaetz had pulled his name from candidacy for Attorney General.
“I was disappointed to learn that Matt Gaetz had withdrawn because he was a strong advocate for my case and my innocence,” Maldonado said. But because of your experience and the fact that you are a woman, I am thrilled to see you in this role. I’ll go into more detail about that later in my letter.
According to the 61-year-old, agent Matthew Bryant and Dan Ash, the head of the Federal Fish and Wildlife Service, “waged a war against me to benefit Dan’s position as president of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums and the Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries (Carole Baskin)”.
Additionally, he alleges that government witnesses who testified against him were involved in rape, sex trafficking, identity theft, bank fraud, and fraud.
He went on: “But the worst part is that the federal wildlife agents and twoFBIagents who lead this conspiracy covered up some very heinous crimes in order to get three felons to play their corrupt games and they entrapped me for two fake murder for hire plots.”
After it was found that Maldonado killed five tigers and sold them across state lines, he was convicted in April 2019 of two counts of hiring someone to kill Baskin, eight counts of violating the Lacey Act by falsifying wildlife records, and nine counts of violating the Endangered Species Act.
Maldonado further asserts in the letter that he has “more than 200 phone recordings, videos, pictures, and text messages” of government workers “recording the Department of Justice employees (federal agents) during the entrapment plot of creating this crime that I am in prison for.”
“America is hoping that you will have some input into whether you will allow the Department of Justice to be used in such a manner that it is a weapon to destroy normal hard-working citizens’ lives all while the people in power continue to get rich and control what their agendas are,” Maldonado wrote, addressing incoming Attorney General Bondi directly.
“The present American government doesn’t care about justice, my innocence while incarcerated, or the hundreds of young girls who have been the victims of this group’s sex crimes—I personally own pictures of more than 75 of them. If incidents like this are permitted to continue, the American legal system will never be truthful.
Maldonado revealed: “On the second season of the Tiger King documentary, these awful people confessed to perjury, entrapment, and a plot to kill me. On global television (Netflix), people from 123 countries witnessed firsthand how I was imprisoned, my life was ruined, and my parents had passed away—all for the sake of making a movie and gaining a monopoly on big cats.”
The imprisoned celebrity came to this conclusion: “Once you take your stance, you will have the authority to present this evidence in court, drop all charges based on it, and let me go back to the free world.”
“This had nothing to do with assisting with tiger conservation or protecting tigers. It ultimately came down to ruining Joseph Maldonado and stealing his property and livestock for nothing. America kidnapped me, and I’m entitled to freedom.
“A sentence of seven years in prison is more than sufficient for doing nothing wrong, but no one has been charged with perjury, entrapment, rape, bank fraud, or sex trafficking. Why? In addition to failing thousands of victims, the system concealed the actual crimes committed by the heinous individuals who preyed on an innocent man.
In the “I am innocent/pardon request” letter that was sent to Gaetz earlier this month, Maldonado begged for forgiveness.
After being found guilty of a murder-to-hire scheme against Baskin, his rival and an animal rights activist, the former proprietor of an exotic animal park is currently serving a 21-year sentence. As previously reported, Maldonado has been diagnosed with scabies and is fighting cancer while incarcerated.
