Calling all drama enthusiasts!
This summer, kids of all ages can participate in Elm Street Arts Summer Drama Camps during the months of June and July. There are two camp age groups, Junior Campers are ages 5-7 and Senior campers are ages 8-14. All participating campers will receive a t-shirt, script and a DVD of their final performance, and will see a performance of either The Little Mermaid (in June) or Aladdin and the Magic Lamp (in July).
Each group will write, produce, and perform an original play within a week’s time with the help of experienced instructors. Campers will create plot lines, song lyrics, design costumes, and more. Parents are encouraged to sign kids up for more than one week, as each week is different from the last. Best of all, friends and family of the campers are invited to see the final performances on Friday afternoon at no additional charge.
Camp hours are from 9:00am to 3:00pm, and there are two remaining weeks in June and three weeks in July to participate. For more information on the Summer Drama Camps, you can visit Elm Street Arts’ website here.
In addition to the Summer Drama Camps, Woodstock residents can check out performances of The Little Mermaid, a musical adaptation of the Hans Christian Anderson fairy tale starting this week, running through June 27th. For the month of July, Elm Street Arts will be performing Aladdin and the Magic Lamp, starting July 11th and running through the 25th.
