Coordinated Effort Leads to Arrest of Three Suspects in Haralson County Commercial Burglary

A coordinated effort among multiple law enforcement agencies has resulted in the arrest of three suspects involved in a commercial burglary of a moving vehicle. The Haralson County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) reported that the suspects were apprehended thanks to timely cooperation with the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office.

The investigation began when the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office informed HCSO about a Penske truck, potentially used in a commercial burglary, seen near a Bremen Walmart. The truck, reported stolen from a business in Temple, Georgia, was worth approximately $190,000.

Upon locating the truck, HCSO officers attempted a traffic stop, but the driver, identified as Doug Boatright, fled, leaving the vehicle in gear. The truck eventually hit a guard barrier and slid through the parking lot before coming to a stop. Boatright, a 52-year-old resident of Tallapoosa, Georgia, was apprehended after a brief pursuit.

Two additional suspects, Kohlton Sheets, 26, and Krista Bradberry, 34, both from Tallapoosa, were caught as they tried to flee from the stopped truck. A search of the vehicle uncovered items stolen from Randolph County, Alabama, along with masks, tools, and a small quantity of methamphetamine.

Boatright faces numerous charges, including careless driving, evading law enforcement, obstruction, theft by receiving and bringing stolen property into the state, possession of crime instruments, and methamphetamine possession. Additionally, he is charged with violating his probation.

Sheets is charged with methamphetamine possession, probation violation, possession of tools for committing a crime, obstruction, and theft by importing stolen material. Bradberry faces similar charges, including methamphetamine possession, possession of crime tools, importing stolen property, and receiving stolen property.
