Cherokee County Animal Shelter is Savin’ Lives by Racin’ Ducks!

August 13, 2013

Duck Race Cherokee County - TownelakerThe Cherokee County Animal Shelter will be hosting a “Rubber Duck Race for the Animals” on Saturday August 24, 2013 from 11am-4pm (race starts at 3pm) at a location to be announced. The shelter is raising funds for pre-paid adoptions of homeless animals from the community. This money will allow Cherokee County Animal Shelter to save more animal lives in 2013.  Racing ducks can be “adopted” through the shelter for $5 each for a single ducky racer, $20 for a 5 duck quack pack and $50 will get you a ducky dozen. Before the race local vendors will be on hand to share their goods and services making this a family fun event.

The shelter is having free adoptions to the public for both dogs and cats that include spay/neuter, microchipping, initial vaccinations, flea/tick treatment, deworming, leukemia testing for cats, heart worm testing for dogs and several other services which in total, costs the shelter in excess of $400 per “free” adoption.

  • 1 yr. free pest control
  • 10 days or 5 nights of doggie day care at Savy Paws Pet Resort
