The Atlanta Falcons recently partnered with Publix supermarkets to host their annual FalCan Food Drive. The donations collected will be donated to the Atlanta Food Bank. The challenge was open to the first 40 schools to register, and seven Cherokee County schools registered including Chapman Intermediate, Little River Elementary, Woodstock High, FD Johnston Elementary, Liberty Elementary, Freedom Middle and Mill Creek Middle.
Overall, all 40 schools collected 42, 628 pounds of canned goods and non-perishable food items. Chapman Intermediate came in first place with a collection of 8,990 pounds! Second place went to Little River Elementary with 4,359 pounds and third place went to Liberty Elementary with 2,852 pounds. As the first place team, Chapman will receive:
- 60 tickets to see the Falcons take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at 1 p.m. at the Georgia Dome on Sunday, November 7.
- · Falcons Fitness Flag Crew of the game — Unfurl the Atlanta Falcons flag on-field during player introductions at the November 7 game. Participants of the Falcons Fitness Flag Crew spend the day with members of the field crew beginning with an aerobic warm up led by some of the Atlanta Falcons Cheerleaders, an on-field rehearsal, lunch with the group, the opportunity to visit Falcons Landing and culminating with unfurling the giant Falcons flag on the field before the game.
