“At first, I didn’t realize what was happening. It sounded like firecrackers,” Davis recalled, describing the sudden onslaught of gunfire. “She didn’t get down fast enough, and she got shot in the head, by her eye, in the temple. It came out by the ear.”
Despite the chaos, Davis managed to pull his girlfriend to safety inside the gas station, where he applied life-saving measures he learned as a Boy Scout until help arrived. Doctors later confirmed her survival but emphasized the arduous journey ahead.
“I’m with her all the way. It almost took her out, and I would have still stuck with her. That’s who I love,” Davis affirmed, his devotion unwavering despite the trauma.
