It is with heavy hearts we announce that Dylan Kent passed away this morning at 8:30am, 8 months after starting his battle against Burkitt’s Lymphoma. Dylan was 16 years old and a freshman at Etowah High School. Dylan played football for CYFA, and was looking forward to playing for Etowah his freshman year, but was diagnosed in July before the season started. He is an only child, so please remember his family – parents Robyn and James – in your prayers.
As was announced last night, the family is in great financial need due to funeral expenses, medical bills, and time spent off work by both parents to be with him. They are having trouble coming up with the money they need to put down on the casket and services, so the need is immediate. A trust fund has been set up at Sun Trust Bank. To donate, please bring your donation to any Sun Trust branch and tell them that you would like to contribute to the Dylan James Kent trust fund. CYFA is going to seed this account with a donation.

Funeral Arrangements
Viewing will be as follows at Medford Funeral Home:
Thursday, March 10, 2011 – 10:00 am to 10:00 pm
Service will be Friday, March 11, 2011 at 2 pm
Interment will be immediately following at Rolling Hills Cemetery
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to the Dylan James Kent Trust Fund at SunTrust Bank. You can make your donation at any SunTrust Bank location. Be sure to give them the correct spelling of Dylan’s name.
